Event Hope

Event Hope: January 12

This month, we hosted our first newly-formatted Event Hope at the Den! If you attended our volunteer meeting at our last event, you’ll remember that Event Hope is changing this year. Instead of meeting once a month at Evangelical Covenant Church, we are trying out a bimonthly program for children from specific, strategic areas of Springfield! Events will still take place on Saturdays! We are hosting kids at the Hope for Kids Den (40 Front Street in Indian Orchard) for a pancake breakfast, Bible lesson, games and relationship-building small group time. We have tested out this 2-hour program model through our Tuesday night Club Hope program and it has been amazing!

Thank you so much to our amazing volunteers for welcoming our first wave of kids from the North End to our very first Event Hope at the Den, making an amazing breakfast, and being the hands and feet of Jesus to these children this weekend. The event was a huge success and the kids all loved it so much! See you on January 26 for our second event with kids from another area of Springfield!

Event Hope: Fall Festival!

What an AMAZING event this weekend! We had 68 children come hang out with us after a long summer season and it was so good to see them again!

This month was our Fall Festival at Event Hope! Our older groups played minute-to-win-it games to earn prizes during game time. This game was pretty crazy—the kids had to get a banana to look like corn on the cob using candy corn in under a minute 😂🌽

We met so many new friends this weekend! Three of our new kids made a decision to give their lives to Jesus ❤️

Caleb did a great job leading game time!

This guy told me he would give me his coolest smile. 😎

THANK YOU so much to every volunteer who prayed over Saturday or came out to help at this event! We could not have made this day happen without your prayers and support. God provided for so many details behind the scenes and all glory goes to Him!

Event Hope: Easter Story Walk 2017

This weekend we had the chance to bring twelve of our HFK kids to an Easter Story Walk put on by First Baptist Church! The kids played games, got their faces painted, ate some yummy snacks, and went through six rooms that each told a different part of the true story of Easter. Thank you so much to all who made this day possible!

Check out the photos and video from this awesome event below.

Event Hope: Valentine's Day

Our Valentines Day Club Hope event this past Saturday was a huge success thanks to the teamwork of our amazing volunteers! A special thanks to Rachel LaFlamme for decorating Valentines cookies and Bethlehem Church for providing gift bags for the kids to hand out to their moms!
