WHO WE ARE
Hope For Kids is a nondenominational faith-based humanitarian nonprofit organization that exists to meet the physical, spiritual and relational needs of children in need throughout the greater Springfield, Massachusetts area.
WHAT WE DO
Our strategy is simple and effective: Meet a spiritual need through a physical context. We build our work upon three pillars: physical relief, spiritual renewal and authentic relationships. We centralize our attention on four programs: Club Hope, Mentor Hope, Event Hope, and Impact Hope, as well as Hope for Kids Family Church.
HOW WE DO IT
We intentionally invest in building collaborative relationships with local churches, charitable and other faith-based organizations, businesses and key partners to provide children with the venues, resources and means necessary to accomplish our organization’s goals. At Hope for Kids, we rely completely on God's leading to fund this work through prayer and donations.
Hope for Kids exists to provide help and hope to kids in need through physical relief, spiritual renewal and authentic relationships.
Seeing every child we help transformed by the message of hope - the Gospel - and ultimately becoming leaders who positively impact their own communities for the good of others and the glory of God.
Our Core Values
PRAYER: LIGHTS THE FIRE
The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results (James 5:16b NLT). This ought to be our first recourse and the most used resource. There is tremendous power when we pray. We should be careful to never overlook that fact. Prayer is the foundation for everything we do in our organization.
EXCELLENCE: FUELS THE FIRE
Whatever you do, do well (Ecclesiastes 9:10a NLT). Anything we do that has God’s name attached to it should be done well – very well. In all of our Hope for Kids endeavors, we should ask ourselves, “Did I do my best?” If our answer is “no,” then ask ourselves, “Why not?” We must remember who we represent – Almighty God Himself. If we don’t pursue excellence at every level, the work will appear lukewarm at best.
TEAMWORK: SPREADS THE FIRE
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed (Ecclesiastes 4:9 NLT). You can do a few good things and I can do a few good things, but together we can do many good things. It takes a collaborative effort In order to fulfill our mission of providing humanitarian help and spiritual hope to the boys and girls who need it most; we must work together as a team. “Teamwork makes the dream work.”
The 66 books of the Old and New Testament alone are, in the original text, the infallible, inerrant, verbally inspired, holy word of God. Among many other things, these scriptures outline a clear pattern for Biblical manhood.
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." - 2 Timothy 3:16 NIV
There is only one God. He is creator of Heaven and earth: infinite, eternal, almighty, infallible, unchangeable, holy and just. God eternally exists in one essence and three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” - Revelation 1:8 NIV
All of humanity was created in God’s image to be in fellowship with Him and to bring Him praise. Initially innocent and having free will, man succumbed to temptation and sinned, thereby separating himself from a right relationship with God. Now, because of this sin, man is separated from God, dead in his trespasses and sin, in need of salvation.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23 NIV
Only those who receive Jesus Christ on the condition of faith alone, apart from good works, are born again of the Holy Spirit, are justified once and for all, and become children of God. Those who are saved remain eternally secure in God’s everlasting blessedness, and those who do not believe are not saved and ultimately suffer an eternal, conscious punishment of the lost.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith: and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God." - Ephesians 2:8 NIV
Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity, exists eternally as god. He added unto himself the nature of man being conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He is God and man, having two distinct natures co-joined in one person. Jesus died on the cross as a representative, substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of every human being. Jesus arose from the dead in the same physical body in which he lived and died. He ascended in the same glorified physical body in which he arose to be seated at the right hand of His Father. Jesus’ personal return to earth for His redeemed ones is imminent and will be followed by His Millennial reign on earth. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.
"This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile." - Romans 3:22 NIV
The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, convicts men of sin. He regenerates, indwells, baptizes, seals and sets believers apart to a Holy life. He is the ultimate Teacher of the Word of God and He empowers believers day by day.
"When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit."
- Ephesians 1:13b NIV
The universal Church is composed of those who have been redeemed and washed in Christ’s blood, regenerated and sealed by the Holy Spirit. Those in the Church are saved to worship, serve God, and to spread the good news of His provision of salvation.
"After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— for we are members of His body." - Ephesians 5:29-30 NIV
